From Masonic Families of the Allegheny Valley

A salesman breaks down in a remote country lane, a farmer in the adjacent field comes over and they discover that they are "Brothers". The salesman is concerned as he has an important appointment in the local town: "Don't worry says the farmer you can use my car, I will call a friend and get the car repaired while you go to the appointment" Off goes the salesman and a couple of hours later he returns but unfortunately the car is awaiting a part which won’t arrive until the next morning. "It's not a problem," says the Farmer, "use my telephone and re-schedule your first appointment tomorrow, stay with us tonight and I'll see that the car is done first thing!" The farmers' wife prepares a wonderful meal and they share a glass of fine single malt during an excellent evening, the salesman sleeps soundly and when he awakes there is his car, repaired and ready to go. After a full English breakfast the salesman thanks them both for the hospitality. As he and the farmer walk to his car he turns and asks "my brother, thank you so much but I have to ask, did you help me because I am a Mason?" "No" was the reply, "I helped you because I am a Mason" Travel well my Brothers.

Wish I would have received this a week ago. We would have arranged a trip. This is a well worthwhile event to go to. Try to arrange trip next year. Go if you can. Good Morning Brethren, This is a great time to see another Masonic Degree done in another Masonic Lodge, very different a from ours, yet very impressive with all their pomp and circumstance. Annual Nickel Plate RR night (3rd Degree – M.M.) is next “SATURDAY” afternoon / evening on the 4th of May, not Friday. In Conneaut, Ohio, immediately across the PA – Ohio border just west of Erie, PA. Times and directions below. Casual Dress or dress up, as a railroader. This is fun! Several of us from western PA Lodges attended one of these degrees there last year. It was Masonic truly a sight and event to behold! Directions to follow below, but 1st some information. The former New York Central Passenger Railroad Station is their museum open to the public along the current railroad mainline in a quiet residential neighborhood these days. Again it will be open from 4 to 6 PM. For touring and purchasing any items you may want. It is loaded with historical railroad memorabilia to read, see, photograph and enjoy. You would not be disappointed. Right outside is a real steam engine and cars on permanent display. The Lodge is a few blocks south of the Museum – easy to find and ample parking. We drove the few blocks from museum to the Lodge at 5:30 to park and get acquainted. **Hobo Stew dinner at 6 PM in their dining room (was being remodeled last year) and 3rd Degree upstairs in Lodge Room at 7 PM. Evergreen Masonic Lodge #222 246 State St. (US Route 20) Conneaut, Ohio It is about a 2 hour drive and 90+ miles depending on your route. The Museum is 5 blocks north of Lodge and west 1 block. “Join us for our Annual Nickel Plate RR night. (MM) degree. Rail road museum open from 4-6.......dinner at 6.....lodge starts at 7. Casual Dress! Rail Road attire....jeans coveralls...etc.”

Last week, on the news, I heard someone say that the human body is just a collection of atoms and molecules with a chemical value of about $9 - and nothing more...... I was stunned. Our bodies may be all of that but so much more.... We are created by a power that I can not begin to comprehend. That is why we have conscious thought and no other animal does. I believe that each of us were placed where we are for a special purpose that we don't understand. I am here to help someone - somehow. It is my job not to screw it up, what ever "it" is. So who ever it is that I am supposed to help, be patient with me. I'm a little slow sometimes, but I'll get there. I may need you to tell me what you need. Each of us is here to help someone. Find your someone.
